Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) ended Thursday’s trading session in the green zone as the benchmark index MSM30 went up by 0.2%, gaining 11.9 points and closing at the level of 5,843.11 points.
The financial sector rose 0.55% as HSBC added 3.2%, while Oman and Emirates Investment gained 2.68%.
Bank Sohar and Al Anwar Holdings also increased by 1.91% and 1.6% respectively.
Similarly, the industry sector index grew 0.45%, as Oman Textile Holding led the session’s gainers and surged 9.68%, while Oman Fisheries, Oman Cement, and Voltamp Energy added 4.51%, 0.82%, and 0.79% respectively.
On the other hand, the services sector declined by 0.18%, as Sohar Power and Al Jazeira Services were today’s biggest losers and dropped 4.35% and 1.49% respectively, while Port Services and Ooredoo lost 1.12% and 0.65%.
Today, traded volumes shrunk to 22.6 million shares compared to 28.97 million shares yesterday, while traded values increased to OMR 4.7 million from OMR 4.31 million on Wednesday.
Ooredoo registered the highest turnover at OMR 675,910, while Bank Nizwa was the most active in volumes with 3.99 million shares.
