Riyadh – Mubasher: Al Moammar Information Systems Company (MIS) and Abunayyan Holding Company have agreed on 7 July to establish an equally-owned joint company to build and develop green data centres, according to a bourse filing on Wednesday.
The green facilities will be operating with renewable energy, a move that comes in line with the Saudi Vision’s goals.
Setting up the joint firm followed the memorandum of understanding (MoU) that was signed between MIS and Abunayyan on 28 February 2021.
It is worth noting that the listed company has recently joined the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology’s initiative to develop large data centres in Saudi Arabia. It earlier signed a SAR 1.2 billion deal with the Saudi Fransi Capital to design, develop, and manage data centres.
