Local, Arab buying boosts EGX early Monday

Cairo – Mubasher: The indices of the Egyptian Exchange (EGX) started Monday’s trading session in green territory on the back of local and Arab purchases.

By 10:22 am Cairo time, the benchmark EGX30 index edged up 0.09% to 12,992.04 points.

The small- and mid-cap EGX70 index added 0.05% to 668.84 points, whereas the broader EGX100 index inched up 0.04% to 1,678.98 points.

The equal-weighted EGX50 index levelled up 0.35% to 2,048.98 points.

Trading volume amounted to around 10.04 million shares exchanged at a turnover EGP 26.83 million through 831 transactions.

Foreign investors were net sellers with EGP 1.26 million, while Egyptian and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 291,960 and EGP 977,040, respectively.
