Mubasher: Kuwait's Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) informed all airlines operating in Kuwait International Airport to suspend all flights to and from seven countries for one week effective as of Saturday, 7 March, according to an official statement.
The countries are Bangladesh, the Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Syria, Lebanon, and Egypt.
The decision is part of Kuwait’s directives to protect the health and safety of citizens and expats against the coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic.
In this respect, the DGCA asserted that all passengers arriving from other countries and have visited the abovementioned nations over the past two weeks will not be allowed to enter Kuwait even if they carry valid residency or visas.
However, only Kuwaitis living in those specified countries can enter Kuwait after undergoing a 14-day quarantine period.
Following DGCA's announcement, Kuwait Airways announced the suspension of its flights to and from the seven countries. Similarly, Egypt Air suspended all of its daily flights to Kuwait until further notice.
