Kuwait's EDU FY 2016/17 profit rises 21%

Mubasher: Educational Holding Group KSCP (EDU) said that its profits increased 20.7% year-on-year to KWD5.66 million ($18.8 million) in the fiscal year 2016/2017 from KWD4.69 million ($16.48 million) in the same period the year before.

The Kuwait-based company attributed the profit hike to the rise of its stake in the profits of the associates, in addition to clearing the financial burdens and slashing losses, according to a bourse filing on Wednesday.

On Tuesday, EDU's board of directors approved paying annual cash dividend at 15 fils per share.
