Kuwait crude oil price rises $2.2 Friday on geopolitical tensions

Mubasher: The price of Kuwait’s crude oil went up by $2.19 on Friday, compared to the day earlier, pushed up by geopolitical tensions.

Kuwait’s crude oil settled at $69.45 per barrel (pb) on Friday, against $67.26 pb on Thursday, according to the Kuwait News Agency.

Oil futures settled higher yesterday, rising 2.2% for the week, as tensions mount in the region after US air forces targeted Iranian Major-General Qassem Soleimani, head of the elite Quds Force, in an airstrike on a convoy at Baghdad airport.
