Kuwait Ports logs KWD 48.5m profit in 2018

Mubasher: Kuwait Ports Authority (KPA) achieved a profit of KWD 48.5 million ($159 million) during the full-year 2018, the entity’s biggest-ever earnings, Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) reported.

Revenues amounted to KWD 97.45 million over the course of the previous year, KPA’s director general Yousef Al Sabah said on the sidelines of a press conference.

KPA’s expenditures reached KWD 48.9 million last year, Al-Sabah added.

The Kuwaiti official further noted that the high profit in 2018 was attributed to three factors; namely, fighting corruption, saving expenses, and hiring efficient domestic workers.

The authority exported around 15,000 cars, tonnes of goods, and containers to neighbouring countries.

KPA is working in line with a plan which will contribute to achieving its role in Kuwait Vision 2035.

Kuwait Vision 2035 aims to transfer the GCC nation to be a major commercial and financial hub in the region.
