King Saud University’s head launches stc’s AI chair

Riyadh – Mubasher: President of King Saud University (KSU), Badran Al-Omar, on Tuesday launched in Riyadh the Saudi Telecom Company’s (stc) artificial intelligence (AI) chair in the presence of stc’s CEO, Nasser Al Nasser.

The newly-developed AI chair will enhance innovation and digital solutions in vital fields such as sustainability, data analysis, and cybersecurity, according to a press release.

The chair is set to be presented in KSU for three years and is expected to become a hub for AI innovation, scientific research, and development, enriching studies and academic research while also providing sustainable solutions for society, economy, and environment.

In February, stc and KSU penned an agreement to build an AI chair at the university’s headquarters. The project is part of the university's partnership with the private sector represented by stc’s national digital content, further supporting scientific research in the field of digital transformation in tandem with the Vision 2030.
