Kuwait – Mubasher: The indices of the Kuwaiti bourse ended the first session in August with a grouped rise, as the benchmark index gained 0.34% or 18.64 points to close at 5,469.62 points.
The weighted index was up 0.42% or 1.47 points to 352.19 points. Kuwait-15 index rose by 0.9% or 7.23 points to 817.89 points.
Liquidity increased by 112.7% to KWD 7.02 million, while trading volume grew by 107.8% to total 76.07 million shares.
The consumer goods sector topped eight gainers by a rise of 0.9%, while both the telecom and insurance sectors were in the red zone after falling by 0.77% and 0.29% respectively.
Ooredoo stock was the top loser by a decline of 6.8%.
Investors was the most active stock on which 6.8 million shares were exchanged at a value of around KWD 159,700. The stock rose by 2.2% to 23.5 fils.
Zain recorded the highest trading value that reached KWD 1.4 million after 4.2 million shares were traded. The stock was up by 1.5% to 335 fils.
