KSA tourism investments exceed SAR 151bn in 2016 – SCTH

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Commission for Tourism and National Heritage (SCTH) on Thursday announced that tourism’s investments achieved more than SAR 151 billion by the end of 2016.

The domestic tourism trips rose 2.3% to 47.5 million trips during 2016, from 46.5 million trips during 2015, according to a statement.

The domestic tourism trips expenses amounted to SAR 44.9 billion in 2016, the statement added.

The international companies for operating hotels reached to 25 firms in 2016, as well as the trips organisers increased to 566 organisers licenced from the Saudi commission.

Tourism revenues stood at SAR 166.8 million by the end of 2016.

SCTH’s budget of 2017 amounted to SAR 1 billion.
