Riyadh – Mubasher: The value of Saudi merchandise imports retreated 29% in June 2017, compared to the same month in the year before, the Saudi General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) said on Monday.
The value of the Kingdom's merchandise imports reached SAR 32.79 billion ($8.74 billion) in June 2017, compared to SAR 46.18 billion ($12.3 billion) in June 2016, the GASTAT added.
Month-on-month, the value of Saudi Arabia merchandise imports fell 24.9% or SAR 10.88 billion.
The mineral products section surged 69.3% to SAR 1.45 billion in June 2017, from SAR 856 million in the same month in the year earlier.
The transport equipment and parts, machinery appliances and electrical equipment, and plant products sections levelled down 37.9%, 36.9%, and 19.7%, respectively.
