Cairo – Mubasher: E-commerce platform Jumia Egypt as well as the fintech electronic payments provider JumiaPay have partnered with valU to enable a new online payment service, according to a press release on Tuesday.
The buy-now, pay-later (BNPL) fintech platform valU will become a payment solution provider through Jumia and JumiaPay, where the latter will be a gateway to manage payment operations of valU consumers by linking both parties for electronic payment services.
Managing Director of JumiaPay Egypt, Tawfik Mahmoud, said: “This cooperation enables JumiaPay vendors to accept valU transactions as a method of payment which will increase their sales volumes.”
Under this partnership, customers will be able to pay interest-free in instalments over a nine-month period.
CEO of Jumia, Hesham Safwat, commented: “The two companies aim to provide the best instalment services, which in return will increase the number of consumers transacting on our e-commerce platform elevating the financial burden on them.”
