Riyadh – Mubasher: Saudi Arabia’s Jizan Port has received the first shipment of livestock from Romania within the kingdom’s framework aimed at supporting food security, state-run Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.
The ship arrived on Wednesday carrying 12,000 sheep that will be distributed across the kingdom. These cattle were discharged in record time after the animal quarantine doctors at the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture had examined them to ensure that they were free of any quarantine diseases.
Last November, Jizan Port received the first shipment of livestock from Brazil carrying 5,144 heads. Several shipments are expected to arrive at the port from some European countries in the near future, the statement said.
