Italy to provide EUR 3m grant to Egypt’s leather, furniture, marble industries

Cairo – Mubasher: The Italian Agency for Development Cooperation intends to provide a grant worth EUR 3 million to develop several leather, marble, and furniture projects in Egypt, the Director Martino Melli said.

The grant includes EUR 1 million to support 100 leather factories in El-Robeky Leather City, EUR 1 million to marble and granite industries in Shak El-Thoban industrial zone, and EUR 1 million to furniture factories in Damietta, Melli added in a statement released by the Ministry of Trade and Industry on Tuesday.

A delegation from the Italian agency has visited the leather industrial city of El-Robeky to explore the possible means for further developing the city.
