Dubai - Mubasher: Investments pumped in Dubai South reached a total value of around AED 20 billion ($5.4 billion) so far, according to Khalifa Al Zaffin, executive chairman of Dubai Aviation City Corporation.
Investments are pumped 50/50 by the Dubai government and the private sector, Al Zaffin added.
In 2016, the Dubai government launched Dubai South City project, described as an exceptional investment destination that is located a few minutes from the Al Maktoum International Airport.
On another note, Al Zaffin said that infrastructure works in the first phase of Al Maktoum International Airport expansion have been completed.
The new expansion will raise the airport’s annual passenger capacity to 130 million passengers, he added.
Scheduled for inauguration in 2025, the first phase of the airport will entail investment of around AED 120 billion.
