Inflation rates in Jordan down 0.9% in 11 months

Mubasher: Jordan’s inflation rate, the Consumer Price Average, declined by 0.9% in the first 11 months of 2016 compared to the same period last year, according to the Jordanian department of statistics indicates.

The main commodities groups, which contributed to this decrease, were meat and poultry by 10.2%, followed by transport with 4.7%, fuel and lighting by 4.9%, vegetables, dried and canned legumes by 4.0%, and dairy products and eggs by 2.5%.

On the other hand, the main commodities groups that witnessed an increase in their prices during that period were rents by 2.7%, tobacco and cigarettes by 3.1%, culture and entertainment by 4.2%, and finally education with 1.6%.

Meanwhile, the Consumer Price Average went up by 0.5% in November compared to October
