India’s Kerala seeks more visitors from GCC

Mubasher: The tourism department of India’s Kerala state is expecting a 40% increase in the number of Saudi visitors after the Indian foreign minister’s decision to extend e-visa facilities to Saudi citizens.

The department is planning to launch a major campaign in the UAE, Oman, Kuwait, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia in June, it said.

“The new brand campaign by Kerala tourism…[is] showcasing the state’s signature assets and celebrating its people as heroes, will be unveiled in select GCC countries through a  major marketing blitzkrieg,” Kerala Tourism Department director Bala Kiran told Arabian Business.

Kerala Tourism has developed new tourism infrastructure projects in many of the Indian’s state tourist locations.
