Hassan Allam awarded $250m contract to build Afreximbank’s regional HQ in Egypt

Cairo - Mubasher: Hassan Allam Construction, a subsidiary of Hassan Allam Holding, has won a $250 million contract to build the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) African Trade Centre (AATC) in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital (NAC).

The complex will be Afreximbank’s largest global development and new headquarters (HQ), according to a press release.

The complex will also feature trade and business facilities, including a knowledge and innovation hub, corporate museum, and SME incubation centre.

It will also have a 750-seater conference centre, exhibition spaces, retail and dining outlets, support facilities, and a 1,200-bay parking structure.

Hassan Allam Construction will handle the civil works, electrical and mechanical systems, landscaping, and the full supply and installation of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

George Elombi, President and Chairman of Afreximbank, stated: “The AATC is meant not simply to accommodate the expansion of the bank, but to address the lack of trade and investment information among African businesses, a challenge that has confounded the growth of intra-African trade and investment for nearly seven decades.”

“We envision the project will be completed within 36 months and will create approximately 8,000 direct and indirect jobs during construction, and approximately 1,000 jobs during the operational phase,” Elombi emphasized.

Designed as a sustainable development, the complex reflects Afreximbank’s and Hassan Allam's commitment to modern, efficient, and environmentally responsible construction.

The partnership highlights a shared vision for infrastructure development and Africa’s economic transformation through joint investment and structured financing of high-impact projects.
