GCC markets seen volatile on oil prices – Analysts

By: Mahmoud Gamal

Mubasher: The indices of the Gulf stock markets are expected to have a mixed performance on Monday due to oil prices and the new US interest rates which will be announced soon, according to analysts.

Volatility is still directing the Gulf markets, as investors await the performance of the global markets, capital market analyst Adnan Al Mziny said.

He noted that the GCC markets are witnessing speculative trading activity, which tends to correct the position of the losing portfolio investments, with the absence of new liquidity for the past two months.

The analyst expect that the latest official surveys, which supported raising the interest rates, would affect emerging markets, namely the UAE and Qatar.

The GCC markets will remain volatile, up and down, during the coming period until the financial statements of the first quarter are disclosed, capital market analyst Ibrahim Al Filkawy said.
