Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) inflation increased by 1.5% in 2015 compared to figures from 2014, GCC Statistical Centre (GCC-Stat) said in a report.
On an annual basis, Kuwait witnessed the highest inflation rate of 2.2% in 2015, whereas Oman’s inflation decreased by 0.1% during the same period.
The GCC inflation reached around 1.3% year-on-year (y-o-y) in December 2015, while it ranged between 0.3% in Oman and 2.7% in Qatar, the report showed.
As for the commodities group in December, education recorded the highest inflation of 5% y-o-y, whereas prices of transport, restaurants and hotels groups remained unchanged for the month comparing to 2014.
The GCC national inflation index ranged between 0.14% in Oman and 3.59% in the UAE y-o-y, according to GCC-Stat.
