Cairo - Mubasher: A source in the Egyptian ministry of trade and industry (MTI) has negated the rumours of transforming the responsibilities of foreign trade to the ministry of supply and internal trading as part of the recent cabinet reshuffle.
The source added that foreign trade represents a major part of the ministry’s system, as it recently unveiled an ambitious strategy to enhance industrial and trade development until the year 2020.
There is a deep connection between the industry and trade sectors, especially when it comes to the incentive policies that targets increasing production and raising import levels, as well as entering new international markets, the source indicated, noting that there has been positive effect on the Egyptian economy since the merger of the two ministers in 2004.
