Mubasher: Flat6Labs has partnered with ADQ’s DisruptAD to launch Flat6Labs Ignite programme, which witnessed the joining of nine startups out of 700 ventures from around the globe
The selected enterprises will showcase their innovations and secure new funding at the Flat6Labs Demo Day on March 24 in Abu Dhabi, according to a press release on Tuesday.
Four out of the nine companies are from the UAE, while the rest of the startups are from Egypt, India, Russia, Singapore, and Poland. The firms will begin relocating part of their operations and teams to Abu Dhabi.
The demo day event will allow each of the selected startups to engage with investors, entrepreneurship hubs, startup founders, corporates, as well as government officials and regulatory authorities.
Head of Venture Capital and Technology Investments at ADQ, Amer Al Ameri, said: “As part of our commitment to disrupting the norm, the nine companies accepted into the program will not only be nurtured but will also stand the chance to gain further exposure as part of our Demo Day that is essential for the growth of seed-stage startups.”
Flat6Labs Ignite was launched in March 2021 as a seed programme supporting up to 60 startups in Abu Dhabi over three years. The programme offers seed funding of up to AED 550,000 in addition to subsequent financing of up to AED 2 million.
General Manager at Flat6Labs, Ryaan Sharif, commented: “With the successful conclusion of the selection stage for Cycle 2, we have already commenced the application phase for Cycle 3 and encourage ambitious startups from around the world to participate in this next round.”
