FedEx Express introduces direct services in Egypt

Cairo – Mubasher: FedEx Express, a subsidiary of FedEx Corporation, has launched direct services in the Egyptian market.

This business transformation aims to meet the increasing demand for international air freight services and the commercial requirements of the e-commerce in Egypt, according to a statement on Tuesday.

FedEx Express has been running its business through local service providers in the North African country since 1994. After introducing direct services, FedEx Express will enable domestic companies and customers to facilitate their business operations.

The company will be offering international coverage to and from over 220 different countries while operating in Egypt through 51 parcel delivery locations across the country.

FedEx Express Regional President for the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and Africa, Jack Meuse, said: "This strategic expansion in Egypt will help local companies reach more markets and a larger segment of new customers around the world."

Meuse added: "Thanks to positive developments in Egypt's logistics sector, many companies have announced their intention to move or expand their production lines within Egypt, providing many business opportunities for shipping companies such as FedEx."
