Export Development Bank of Egypt's profits down 32% in H1-20/21

Cairo – Mubasher: The consolidated net profits of Export Development Bank of Egypt (EBE) declined by 32.04% year-on-year (YoY) to EGP 409.65 million in the first half (H1) of fiscal year 2020/2021, compared to EGP 602.81 million, including minority shareholders’ rights.

The bank’s net interest income fell to EGP 910.1 million in the July-December period of 2020 from EGP 1.105 billion in the corresponding period a year earlier, according to a bourse disclosure on Sunday.

As for standalone business, the bank’s net profits dropped to EGP 369.33 million in H1 of FY20/21, compared to EGP 541.3 million in the year-ago period.

During the first quarter (Q1) of fiscal year 2020/2021, the lender logged EGP 186.76 million in net profits, down from EGP 275.38 million in the prior-year period, including minority shareholders’ rights.
