Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Emirates Telecommunication Group (Etisalat) announced the appointment of Hatem Dowidar as its CEO, according to a statement to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) on Wednesday.
Dowidar was appointed as Acting CEO of the telecom operator in May 2020, following the resignation of Saleh Abdulla Al Abdooli.
In September 2015, the new CEO joined the group as a Chief Operating Officer (COO) before becoming the CEO of Etisalat International in March 2016.
Dowidar previously acted as CEO of Vodafone Egypt from 2009 to 2014 and Group Chief of Staff for Vodafone Group.
