Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Emirates Telecommunications Group (Etisalat) on Monday announced terminating the management and technical support agreements with the Emerging Markets Telecommunications Services Ltd (EMTS Nigeria).
The termination date of these agreements was 30 June, while those “governing the use of Etisalat’s brand (including its trademarks) has been deferred to 21 July 2017”, Etisalat said in a filing to the Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX).
The UAE telecom operator revealed that it was in talks over new agreements for technical services, strategic procurement support, and the use of Etisalat brand (including its trademarks).
Since Etisalat is still in talks over the new agreement, it has therefore decided to defer the termination of its trademark agreement with the Nigerian firm.
