Cairo – Mubasher: The Ethiopian state TV apologised for what it said was a misinterpretation of statements by the minister of water and irrigation Seleshi Bekele, who was reported as saying that the country started filling of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).
The announcement came after Egypt asked Ethiopia for official clarification of the media reports.
Bekele posted on Twitter, saying that the inflow into the reservoir was “due to heavy rain fall and runoff exceeded the outflow and created natural pooling.”
