Dubai – Mubasher: Emaar Properties has received bids from contractors for the Umm Al Quwain Canal tender.
The contract comprises digging a 1.5-kilometre (km) canal, constructing a 3-km dock, and paving 500 cubic metres of rocks, according to MEED.
The canal’s total length is planned to reach 7.5 km, MEED added, noting that Emaar was preparing for two other tenders for the same project.
In January, the UAE-based magazine reported that the potential contenders would be Netherlands’ BAM International, China Harbour Engineering, Dutco, overseas AST Company, and Belgium's BESIX.
