Cairo – Mubasher: E-commerce platform Jumia has announced the appointment of Hisham El-Gabry as the new CEO in Egypt to be responsible for the company’s business in the country.
El-Gabry has been the Chief Commercial Office (CCO) of Jumia Egypt since 2022, according to a press release.
The new official brings 17 years of experience in the e-commerce and communication sectors.
Prior to working in Jumia, El-Gabry was part of Amazon EU where he held several leadership positions and also joined Vodafone Group, Apple, and Samsung.
The new CEO commented: “E-commerce is growing very fast and Jumia Egypt will continue focusing on its unique strength points, most notably: striving for customer satisfaction, providing easy and safe payment methods, a strong partnership with local and international brands, banking services providers, as well as logistics partners.”
El-Gabry added: “I am proud to be working with the Jumia Egypt talented team, in whom I have infinite confidence that we will together achieve our goals for the coming period.”
The CEO succeeded Hesham Safwat, who previously talked to Mubasher about how to succeed in the e-commerce market in Egypt.
