Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, El-Sayyed El-Quseir, said a total of 172,000 tonnes of maize and soybeans worth around $81 million was released in coordination with the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) and through the banking sector, Akhbar El-Yom reported.
The released fodder comprised 146,000 tonnes of maize worth $58.40 million and 26,000 tonnes of soybeans worth $19.20 million, in addition to supplements worth about $3.40 million.
Last Wednesday and Thursday, Egypt released $300 million worth of cargo from its ports.
During the period from 16 October to 22 December 2022, a total of 1.42 million tonnes of fodder valued at $713 million was released, the minister revealed.
