Cairo – Mubasher: Total deposits at Egyptian banks hiked by EGP 118 billion at the end of July 2022 to EGP 7.49 trillion, compared to EGP 7.37 trillion a month earlier.
Month-on-month (MoM), total government deposits rose to EGP 1.53 trillion by the end of July, compared to EGP 1.49 trillion at the end of last June, Akhbar El-Yom reported.
Meanwhile, government deposits in local currency reached EGP 1.33 trillion, while government deposits in foreign currency stood at EGP 205.53 billion.
Moreover, non-governmental deposits grew to EGP 5.95 trillion at the end of last July, compared to EGP 5.87 trillion at the end of June.
Non-governmental deposits in local currency increased to EGP 5.05 trillion in July 2022 from EGP 5 trillion a month earlier, while non-governmental deposits in foreign currency registered EGP 895.70 billion in July, up from EGP 870.90 billion in June.
Egypt’s domestic liquidity increased by EGP 97 billion to hit EGP 6.70 trillion by the end of July. In the meantime, total credit facilities granted by banks in Egypt recorded EGP 3.59 trillion last July, a hike of EGP 31.60 billion.
