Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian banking sector’s assets grew to EGP 6.4 trillion at the end of last June, a report released by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE) showed.
The portfolio of financial investments, treasury bills, and balances held by banks accounted for 62.6% of total assets, the CBE revealed.
Total deposits rose by 9.1% in fiscal year 2019/2020, making up 77.4% of total liabilities and shareholders’ rights.
The ratio of non-performing loans to gross loans reached 3.9% in June, compared to 4.1% in FY18/19.
The loan-to-deposit ratio registered 47.1% in FY19/20, up from 46.7% in FY18/19.
