Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Electricity and Renewable Energy has invested EGP 1.020 billion in upgrading electricity networks in Luxor, powered by Upper Egypt Electricity Distribution Co, which has about 430,000 subscribers, from July 2014 until June 2020.
The state-financed EGP 412 million plan was implemented from July 2017 until June 2020, while the self-financed EGP 163 million plan was executed from July 2014 until June 2020, the Minister of Electricity, Mohamed Shaker, said in a statement on Wednesday.
The works included the replacement of medium-voltage overhead power lines with underground cables with total lengths of 36.084 kilometres at a value of EGP 40 million from July 2017 until June 2020.
