Cairo – Mubasher: The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has launched Egypt Upstream Gateway (EUG), the first digital platform for subsurface information, in collaboration with Schlumberger.
The project aims to attract investments to the oil and gas sector in the country through providing easy access to the sector’s data, the Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, said in a statement on Thursday.
The Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) will launch the first international bid round through the gateway in 2021. The bid covers 24 blocks in the Gulf of Suez, the Western Desert, and the Mediterranean Sea, El-Molla added.
