Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt has submitted an application to the COVAX Facility, the vaccines pillar of the Access to COVID-19 Tools (ACT) Accelerator co-led by the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI), GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, and the World Health Organization (WHO), to secure COVID-19 vaccines, the Minster of Health, Hala Zayed, revealed.
A meeting will be held with the COVAX in the upcoming period to discuss the matter, Zayed said in a statement on Tuesday.
Earlier, the cabinet authorised the Ministers of Finance and Health and Population to take the necessary measures to provide 20 million doses of the coronavirus vaccine.
On Monday, the Ministry of Health reported 415 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally to 118,847, including 103,703 recoveries and 6,790 deaths.
