Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian population reached 104.40 million on 3 January 2023, up by more than 13,000 when compared to 104.39 million on 1 January 2023, data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) showed on Wednesday.
On a yearly basis, the country’s population rose by 1.58 million, compared to 102.81 million on 1 January 2022.
By 2050, the country’s population is expected to reach 165 million given the current birth rates.
The population of Egypt's capital Cairo amounted to 10 million. Moreover, it reached 9 million in Giza and 7 million in each of Sharqia and Daqahlia governorates.
