Egypt’s non-oil exports rise 8.9% in February

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s non-petroleum exports rose by 8.9% year-on-year in February 2018 to $1.466 billion from $147 million.

Egyptian exports of food goods stood at $457 million last February, compared to $430 million in February 2017, according to the General Organization for Export and Import Control’s (GOEIC) monthly bulletin.

Egyptian fresh orange top the most 20 important food goods of Egypt’s non-oil exports, followed by fresh potatoes, heat-processed cheeses, tangerine, wheat flour, and frozen strawberries, the GOEIC highlighted.

Meanwhile, exports of fresh bananas and canned potatoes came at the end of the list, the organisation noted.

The GOEIC had previously posted that Egypt’s non-petroleum exports rose by 12% in 2017, recordeding $20.5 billion.
