Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s index of manufacturing and extractive industries, excluding crude oil and petroleum products, increased by 1.4% to 132.50 points in August from 130.65 points in July.
The index of food industries grew by 15.40% month-on-month to 149.97 points in August, compared to 129.96 points, data released by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) showed.
In addition, the index of paper manufacturing amounted to 148.06 points in August, rising by 86.1% month-on-month from 81.33 points.
On the other hand, the index of base metal manufacturing dropped by 5.8% month-on-month to 69.56 points from 73.82 points in July.
Meanwhile, the index of other machinery and equipment fell by 38.3% to 212.92 points in August, compared to 345.31 points a month earlier.
