Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt’s index of manufacturing and extractive industries, excluding crude oil and petroleum products, declined by 9.18% to 108.06 (initial) in April from 118.98 (final) in March, according to the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
The index of manufacturing beverages rose by 9.47% month-on-month (MoM) to 258.12 in April from 235.80, thanks to higher demand in the summer season and Ramadan, the CAMPAS said in a statement on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the index of manufacturing electric appliances advanced by 2.55% MoM to 105.04 from 102.43 in March.
On the other hand, the index of wood and cork industry excluding furniture fell by 7.27% to 59.43 in April, compared to 64.09 a month earlier.
Moreover, the index of uncategorised machinery and equipment dropped by 12.92% MoM to 167.63 from 192.50 in March due to lower exports.
