Egypt’s inflation records 6.3% in November

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s inflation recorded 6.3% in November 2020, compared to 2.7% in the same month in 2019.

The nation-wide Consumer Price Index (CPI) stood at 111.2 points in November, a rise of 1.1% when compared to the previous month, as shown by data from the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).

This rise in inflation was attributed to higher prices of vegetables and grains groups by 25% and 0.6%, respectively, coupled with a hike in prices of ready-made garments, outpatient clinics' services, and hospitals' services groups by 2.7%, 0.5%, and 0.4%, respectively.

This came despite lower fruits prices by 4.6% and a drop in prices of meat and chicken, and telephone and fax services equipment groups by 0.4% and 0.6%, respectively.
