Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's headline inflation rate fell by 0.4% month-on-month (MoM) to 110.2 points in January, the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced on Wednesday.
The decline in inflation rate was ascribed to lower prices of vegetables by 20.4%, ready-made garments by 0.1%, transportation services by 0.6%, and hotels services by 0.6%, data showed.
On the other hand, the prices of fruits increased by 5.4%, meat and poultry by 5.2%, and house rentals by 0.3%.
The annual headline inflation rate registered 4.8% in January, compared to 6.8% in the same month a year earlier.
