Egypt's furniture exports hit $104m in five months

Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt's furniture exports increased by 29% year-on-year (YoY) to $104 million during the first five months of 2021, compared to $81 million, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported, citing data from the Egyptian Furniture Export Council.

The country's furniture exports retreated by 22% to $10.47 million in May, compared to $13.45 million in the same month in 2020. 

Saudi Arabia topped Egypt's market destinations for furniture exports with a value of $25 million during the five-month period ended 31 May, followed by the UAE and Iraq with respective values of $14 million and $13 million. 

Egypt's furniture exports to Oman, Sudan, and the US amounted to $8 million, $8 million, and $4 million, respectively.
