Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s exports to Japan jumped by 76% to $176 million in the first five months of 2020, compared to $100 million in the year-ago period, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Nevine Gamea, revealed.
Meanwhile, the North African nation’s imports from Japan also rose by 18% year-on-year (YoY) to $443 million in the January-May period from $375 million, Gamea said in a statement on Tuesday.
Egypt’s top exports to Japan included carpets, ready-made garments, home appliances, and dried agricultural crops, while its imports included cars, machinery, plastics, and rubber-made products.
