Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s exports of engineering industries surged by 22.2% year-on-year (YoY) to $2.308 billion in the first 10 months of fiscal year (FY) 2020/2021, compared to $1.888 billion.
During April, engineering exports jumped by 173% to $226.3 million, compared to $82.8 million in April 2020, according to a report released by the Engineering Export Council of Egypt on Thursday.
Over the first four months of 2021, engineering exports increased by 49% YoY to $967.7 million from $650.2 million.
Cookware and utensil exports hiked by 51%, while exports of means of transportation, home appliances, and cables soared by 43%, 42.6%, and 41%, respectively.
In addition, exports of car components and electronics and electric industries grew by 35% and 21%, respectively.
Top countries that received higher engineering exports from Egypt include the US, Turkey, France, Spain, Greece, Italy, Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Hong Kong, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Tunisia, and Nigeria.
