Egypt’s exports of chemicals, fertilisers record $816m in two months

Cairo – Mubasher: The Chemical Industries Export Council announced that Egypt’s exports of chemicals and fertilisers rose by 17% year-on-year (YoY) to $816 million during the first two months of 2021, the Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported on Sunday.

The country’s exports of organic chemicals surged by 47% YoY to $75 million in January and February, compared to $63 million.

In addition, the exports of adhesives increased by 47%, while exports of fertilisers, plastics, and paints rose by 26%, 21%, and 26%, respectively.

Italy topped Egypt’s market destinations for chemical exports with a value of $70 million, followed by France and Brazil with $53 million and $38 million, in that order.
