Cairo - Mubasher: Egypt's exports surged by 24.5% year-on-year (YoY) to EGP 25.9 billion during the first ten months (10M) of 2021, the Minister of Trade and Industry, Nevin Jameh, announced on Tuesday.
Jameh said that industrial production has contributed to 17% of Egypt's gross domestic product (GDP) in 2019/2020, compared to around 16% in the earlier year.
The minister remarked that a number of initiatives were taken to increase the country's exports and maintain their growth amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic's repercussions, including the issuance of micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) law.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Trade and Industry has issued the Industrial Licensing Law to facilitate procedures for new industrial projects to obtain licenses across 80% of Egyptian industries.
