Egypt’s expat remittances up 23% in January

Cairo – Mubasher: Remittances sent from Egyptians working abroad rose 23% year-on-year in January, according to data by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE).

Expat remittances reached $1.6 billion in January 2017, compared to $1.3 billion in January 2016.

In the period between November 2016 and January 2017, remittances amounted to $5 billion, versus $4.1 billion in the same period of the previous year.
