Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange indices advanced collectively on Tuesday, as the benchmark index EGX30 went up 1.25% or 78.35 points to close at 6,339.76 points on buying activity by foreign and Arab institutions.
The market capitalization gained EGP 3.2 billion ($410.7 million) reaching EGP 401.35 billion.
The stocks of Commercial International Bank, Global Telecom, Talaat Moustafa and EFG-Hermes went up by 2.18%, 1.87%, 0.79% and 0.71% respectively.
The stocks of Orascom Telecom Media, Qalaa holding and Beltone Financial went down by 1.61%, 0.82% and 5.08% respectively.
The equal weighted index EGX50 added 1.3% to close at 1,21934 points, while the small and mid-caps index remained stable at the level of 355.67 points.
The broader index EGX100 inched up 0.05% to 731.2 points.
The market total trading value amounted to EGP 588.5 million upon trading 248 million shares.
Out of 175 stocks traded today, advancers outnumbered decliners by 82 to 62, while 31 stocks remained unchanged.
Foreign and Arab investors came as net buyers with EGP 28.4 million and 9 million respectively, while local investors came as net sellers with EGP 37.4 million.
Institutions ended as net buyers except the local ones, while retail investors came as net sellers.
The banking sector accounted for 25% of the market capitalization with EGP 82.8 billion, followed by the real estate sector and the telecom sector with EGP 14.4% and 11.3% respectively.
