Egypt’s bourse closes on positive note

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Exchange (EGX) closed on positive note on Sunday, for the fourth day in row, as the benchmark index EGX30 added 0.48% or 63.9 points to stand at 13,287.76 points.

The small and medium caps index EGX50 gained 1.53% to close at 2,071.99 points, while the broader index EGX100 went up 0.09% to close at 1,155.37 points.

On contrary, the equal weighted index EGX70 edged down 0.05% to 472.88 points.

The market capitalization gained EGP 3.2 billion reaching EGP 632.9 billion.

The market witnessed 609.9 million shares changed hands worth EGP 1.4 billion.

The retail investors were net buyers with EGP 79.99 million, while institutions were net buyers.

Foreign and Arab investors were net buyers with EGP 3.1 million and EGP 44 million respectively, while local investors were sellers with EGP 47.1 milion.

Today’s top performing stocks were ACC, up 10.0%, Arabia Investments, up 9.3%, and Egyptian Iron and Steel, up 8.4%. Today’s worst performing stocks included Eastern Co, down 2.3%, Palm Hills, down 1.7%, and EFG Hermes, down 1.4%.
