Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's balance of trade deficit decreased by 28.70% during July 2022 to stand at $2.70 billion, compared to $3.80 billion in the same month a year earlier, Ahram Gate cited data by the Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS).
Exports
The country's exports increased by 2.20% in July 2022, reaching to $3.13 billion, compared to $3.07 billion in July 2021. The Arab world's most populous nation's exports of petroleum products rose by 89.40%, fertilisers by 6.70%, and fresh fruits by 11.40%.
On the other hand, exports of crude petroleum retreated by 30.50%, and pastries and meal preparations by 21.60%.
Imports
Egypt's Imports slumped by 14.80% to $5.81 billion in July 2022, compared to $6.82 billion in the same month in 2021.
The country's imports of medicines and pharmaceuticals dropped by 24.10%, crude petroleum by 40%, and soybeans by 33.50%, whereas imports of raw plastic materials rose by 11.40% and maize by 3.40%.
